SEster Spotlight #8: Izzy Kalb🩷

@izzykalb27 was still finishing up her semester abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina through June, ending with an adventure down to Patagonia. She spent the rest of the summer at home in CT making up for lost time with her perfect puppy and celebrating her niece’s first birthday. While home Izzy was working in immigration legal services and doing spanish translation work, in what she says was the best job she’s ever had. She is SO excited to be back after a whole semester away from her magical SEsters. ✨

@elizabethcwolfram spent most of her summer studying Italian language and culture in Siena, Italy. When she wasn’t studying, she spent lots of time traveling throughout Italy with her friends. After Italy she spent some time in NYC doing a bio fellowship before going to Nantucket with family and friends. She had a wonderful summer but is thrilled to be back with her SEsters🩷

We love seeing this girl back in New Haven after all her travels😍

In late May she went to Israel with PDLI (Peace and Dialogue Leadership Initiative) which is a joint program between Yale and West Point. Ariane also had a surprise visit to Dubai when her flight got cancelled (no complaints there!). After coming back to the states, she went to work in D.C. at a national security think tank where she was a mentor for the Hudson Institute of Political Studies. She also went to Gettysburg battlefield two times since it was so cool. She had quite the summer!💕

Besides SE, you can find her around campus singing in Glee Club and songwriting with the Yale Songwriters’ Collective, on the club squash team, and in the Yale Entrepreneurial Society (she’s a busy gal). On top of all that, she’s majoring in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics.

A fun fact about Elizabeth: thanks to an Intro to Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics class Elizabeth can read hieroglyphics on tablets in museums (and is very excited about it)

Elizabeth’s favorite song to sing in the shower is Blue by Ingrid Andress.

SE is basically an Elizabeth fan club.
